The Junior Estimator plays a key support role within the project team, working closely with the Project Manager/Estimator. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in construction estimating, specifically in the tile and stone industry, with the opportunity to grow into roles such as Estimator, Project Manager, or Project Coordinator.
This role focuses on cost estimating, document organization, vendor coordination, and internal communications. You will receive hands-on training in company systems and processes and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from bid development to pre-construction planning. A strong work ethic, organizational skills, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating Support
- Support the project management team in delivering high-quality bids on time.
- Assist in reviewing project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to perform quantity take-offs.
- Analyze project variables such as labor, materials, equipment, and location to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to request and track pricing and bids.
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals and comprehensive bid packages.
- Learn and apply estimating tools such as SAGE, Bluebeam, and OST under supervision.
- Support the decision-making process on project scope and budget adjustments.
Client & Vendor Communication
- Assist in meetings and calls with clients, vendors, and subcontractor's alongside senior staff.
- Help document meeting notes, prepare follow-ups, and support general communication.
- Serve as a supporting contact for vendors and subcontractors as needed to ensure timely coordination.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized project files, both digital and physical, for internal reference and audits.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural construction drawings.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and OST a plus.
- Basic document management skills, including organizing and maintaining digital and physical files.
Organizational & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Working Environment
- Fully office-based position.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform basic physical tasks.
- Flexibility in work hours may be needed during critical project phases.
