Do you have experience installing or repairing hydraulic systems on trucks or heavy equipment? We’re hiring a full-time Truck Hydraulic Mechanic to join a busy shop that upfits municipal and commercial vehicles. Responsibilities include installing dump bodies, plows, spreaders, PTOs, and wiring 12V control systems. Must be able to read schematics and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues. Ideal candidates come from truck, fleet, or equipment backgrounds. Union shop with steady hours, great benefits, and long-term growth potential.

salary: $65,000 - $95,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Install and troubleshoot hydraulic systems on dump bodies, snowplows, spreaders, and liftgates

  • Perform electrical wiring and connection of switches, relays, and control panels

  • Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics for custom truck builds

  • Mount and configure PTOs, hydraulic pumps, valves, tanks, and lines

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and low-voltage electrical issues

  • Modify truck chassis and frames as needed for equipment installation

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic meters safely and effectively

  • Ensure all work is completed to shop specifications and DOT safety standards

  • Collaborate with welders and fabricators on multi-step truck upfit projects

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
