The Boiler Operator/Technician at our Waterton facility located in Littleton, CO will:
Support daily operations of the campus building boiler plants & gas fired heating systems. Operates high pressure boilers, low pressure boilers, and auxiliaries using instruments, gauges, automatic or manual operation control maintain prescribed conditions of water level, steam pressure and rate of fuel firing. Conducts routine and periodic physical and functional checks of assigned areas to check the operation of gas fired equipment - heating, power and steam equipment and systems, such as steam boilers, pressure vessels, heating furnaces, hot water/steam generators, gas fired roof top units, fuel heating and pumping apparatus for proper operating conditions. Monitors and takes temperature readings and adjusts equipment to maintain appropriate conditions. Performs such power plant duties as collecting station logs, tabulating routine test information, collecting, and recording temperature readings, fuel consumption, water sampling. Must be familiar with sequence of starting and shutting off equipment and machinery and be able to detect quickly causes of breakdown and trouble. Makes repairs and adjustments and informs supervisor of other repairs and adjustments needed for all heating, and power and steam equipment. Performs Preventive Maintenance, service, and repair on boilers, building gas fired equipment, and roof top units.
The position requires: Driving company vehicle, Occasional push/pull drag/carry up to 100 lbs., 20 lbs. constantly. Ability to utilize computers to adjust control set points and perform data entry. Ability to identify/hear system alarms.
Occasional exposure to moderate to high noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
Overtime, holiday, weekend, and shift work are required
Performs necessary housekeeping to maintain safe working conditions.
Must maintain current skills training required by regulations and permits4 years equivalent boiler operator/technician experience
Hot Water Boiler & Steam experience
State of Colorado drivers license.
Knowledge of codes, and safety practices.
Strong interpersonal skills and team playerStationary Engineer/Boiler Plant Operator License
Basic Computer Literacy skills
Good problem-solving skills
Advanced troubleshooting skills/experience
Regulatory Compliance experience
