IPS - RMB Products is seeking an Surface Prep Operator who is responsible for preparing surfaces for the next operation including paint.

Job Accountabilities:

• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be painted or lined primarily by surface blasting

• Responsible for masking off areas that will be paint-free and areas that do not require surface preparation

• Performs incidental duties such as hanging pipe, crane operation, forklift operation, and other duties as assigned by Chemical Production Supervisor

• Maintain work areas per the 5S Methodology

• Complete daily and weekly preventative maintenance forms

• Utilizes the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Job Specifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

Years’ Experience: 0-1 years of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Experience as a surface prep operator or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
  • Experience of proper methods of preparing various surfaces for painting and finishing preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and customer provided specifications
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally in the English Language
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions given out orally and in writing by the Chemical Production Supervisor or customer expectations
  • Requires great attention to detail
  • Ability to meet workmanship standards
  • Current and active Forklift certification
  • Current and active Crane and Rigging certification
  • Certified for use of Respirators
