Purpose Statement
Maintenance Technician works within the Maintenance Department, controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair and preventive maintenance.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
Uses basic plumbing, mechanical?and general facilities and building maintenance knowledge as needed.
Complete assigned work orders correctly and professionally.
Utilize the lock out tag out program.
Trouble-shoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures.
Performs plumbing and pipe fitting as needed.
Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines.
Operates Richs SCADA system and completes appropriate paperwork.
Trains new Maintenance Department Associates and team members as needed.
Will be required to work with and train operations Associates on basic equipment troubleshooting and assist operations as needed with production.
Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Team Leader.
FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all GMPs, food safety, and quality policies.
Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
Review food defense and quality records for precision, accuracy, and conformance to document control procedures, providing written verification as required.
Ensure employee compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
Provide immediate and long-term corrective action in the event of non-compliance to food defense and quality policies.
Record accurate and legible results on documentation
Always provide adequate housekeeping.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Must have High School Diploma or GED/equivalent education with 1-3 years experience in manufacturing (food processing preferred)
Must have general mechanical knowledge and electrical knowledge as demonstrated by passing an internal test
Must have basic plumbing and general facilities/building maintenance knowledge
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
Must have the ability to train other Associates in Maintenance operations
Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
Must be proficient on Richs SCADA system
Has an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines
Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines
Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures
Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned
The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform for this position are as follows:

Frequent stair/ladder climbing.
May handle potentially hazardous equipment or material.
Works in a cool, wet environment.
