Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to engage in project-based work focused on efficiency and refrigerant upgrades. The role involves researching and sourcing vendors for components such as wire harnesses, connectors, relays, switches, contactors, circuit breakers, and terminals. You will utilize your expertise to pull up Creo Electrical drawings using Windchill for accessing schematics and layouts of panels, and sizing wires and voltages.

Responsibilities

  • Support sustaining products, including quality improvements, cost reductions, component obsolescence, and failure analysis.
  • Evaluate and approve components to ensure they meet availability, performance, and cost requirements.
  • Determine root cause and corrective actions for failures.
  • Troubleshoot issues on the production floor related to electrical components, identifying whether the problem is a design issue, supplier quality issue, or production issue.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and connection prints.
  • Understanding of UL 508 and UL 1995 standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Engineering Technology, or strong experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and determine root cause.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with team members across different skill levels.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with wire harness and electrical components.
  • Knowledge of automation and electrical engineering principles.
  • Relevant co-op or internship experience.
Work Environment

This position is based in the Electrical Engineering Product department, working primarily in-office at the plant. The current schedule is Tuesday to Thursday in-office with remote work on Monday and Friday, subject to change to five days a week in-office. Main working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
