Full job description Position: CAD Drafter Job Description: This is an entry-level CAD drafting position. The CAD Drafter is responsible for preparing and revising engineering documentation in the form drawings and bills of material using computer-aided drafting systems. The candidate will confer with the engineers and other departments to interpret design concepts to determine the nature and timeliness of documentation projects. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Revising 2D drawings and/or 3D models from marked-up prints, notes, or verbal instructions Creating fabrication drawings from the design work of others Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematic, and computer-generated reports Documenting designs and creating product specification sheets utilizing the CAD system Creating assembly instructions for products using graphic design software Processing engineering changes to bill of materials in ERP system, CAD drawings and packaging specifications Communicating with vendors to source product and improve quality Developing new product ideas into cost effective products Developing, performing, and creating written reports for product and prototype testing Performing other duties as requested Requirements: Capable of working independently or as part of a team Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent reading comprehension skills Good oral and written communication skills Sound mechanical aptitude Willingness to go above and beyond the job description and pitch in wherever necessary to get the job done Experience: 1-2 years drafting experience Technical school and/or high school level work in engineering or drafting; some college level work preferred Autodesk product experience preferred Some manufacturing/fabricating experience preferred Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Profit sharing Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday No weekends
