Chemours is seeking a Wet Mill Operator to join our Mining team! This position will report directly to the Production Specialist at our TRS, Florida location.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat, assist in all other areas of the plant where knowledge, skill and ability exist. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

**The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:**

+ Installs diesel pumps as needed throughout plant, including minor maintenance from packing pumps to priming the fuel system.

+ Operates and maintains field equipment.

+ Conducts preventative maintenance (PM) inspections in order to ensure continuity of operation of equipment. Patrols operating areas in order to detect abnormal conditions.

+ Turns dials and handles, opens and closes valves on mills in order to obtain a specific ore grade.

+ Maintains service lines to and from wet mill.

+ Maintains proper setting cleanliness and functioning of spirals.

+ Assist in calculating and maintaining spiral feed rate by sampling and changing settings on spirals.

+ Assist in maintenance activities e.g. change pipelines and valves, patch launders, maintain/repair trommel screens and chute, change/add feedline and swing lines, move access walkway.

+ Assists with maintenance on pumps and pipe replacement.

+ Inspects safety systems. Emergency lights eye wash station, 1st aid kits, Scott Air packs, and fire extinguishers. Completes and files all inspections documentation and enters into maintenance system items that need follow up.

+ Maintain standards of housekeeping. Wash deck, clean and maintain restroom and change house, clean lunchroom.

+ Repairs leaks on pipes.

+ Assist field crew, HE operator and other employees in assorted operation and maintenance tasks.

+ Uses various equipment to perform tasks, including, large farm tractors, 10-wheel truck off-road, tractors, track-mobile, forklift, etc.

+ Assist in hands on shadowing/training of new employees on mill operations.

+ Completes task related logs, inspection sheets and enters information into SAP

+ Accountable for working safely and for maintaining a respectful workplace.

+ Provides input to improvement related tasks.

+ Operates control screens to support the process

**The following is** **_required_** **for this role:**

+ Ability to read, write and follow directions in English

+ Must be able to perform basic maintenance functions.

+ Must be able to work in a team environment with different people.

+ Ability to assist in and fuse pipe in accurate lengths.

+ Ability to use various hand tools.

+ Ability to work with limited supervision.

+ Must be able to resolve problems associated with spiral operation.

+ Ability to work in all weather conditions and accomplish work safely.

+ Ability to go from task to task without leaving problems for others.

+ Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

+ Ability to work a rotating shift schedule and/or varying shifts and must be punctual in adhering to established start times; attendance at work is an essential function to the performance of this position.

+ Ability to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed

**The following is** **_preferred_** **by the business unit:**

+ 3 -6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ 3 -6 months of equipment operating experience and proficient in operating bulldozers, forklift/lull, excavators, payloaders, and possibly other various pieces of process essential equipment.

+ Basic mechanical skills/hand tools.

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Regularly required to use hands, fingers, and feet in a coordinated effort to move levers, depress foot pedals, and turn dials to operate power machinery.

+ Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

+ Frequently ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time in the operation of mobile equipment.

+ Must be able to work in changing environmental/weather conditions such as ambient heat/cold and/or rain.

+ Capable of wearing personal protective equipment, such as hearing protectors, respirators, steel toe boots and other safety items as necessary.

+ Frequently lifts or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts or moves up to 50 pounds.

+ Ability to use various hand and air operated tools to maintain infrastructure equipment.
