Project Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering design and project management for Plant Improvement and Capital Projects. This role involves modifying existing processes and equipment, installing new processes, and collaborating with Controls Engineers to upgrade control systems. The engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure safety and support new product innovation opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering design and project management for Plant Improvement Projects, including modifications to existing processes, equipment, or facilities.
  • Oversee installation of new processes or equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineers for control and instrumentation upgrades.
  • Lead engineering design and project management for Capital Projects, including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or production lines.
  • Provide technical and project management support for site transfers of equipment or production lines.
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Demonstrate a safety-first approach throughout the organization.
  • Provide engineering support for new product innovation.
  • Analyze and own results/KPIs, acting with urgency and pace.
  • Be a responsible steward of the brand, business team members, and stakeholders.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering experience.
  • Proven design and project management skills for plant and capital projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Experience with mid-size plant and project management, including pumps, piping, and process design improvements.
  • Experience working with OEMs, fabrication shops, installation contractors, and plant equipment.
  • Continuous improvement experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • BS or technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, or 15+ years of applicable technical experience.
  • Hands-on attitude with the ability to work closely with shop floor personnel.
  • 2+ years of experience in project engineering, plant engineering, or similar technical roles.
  • Preferred: Experience with electrical, controls, and automation.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
Work Environment

The role is set in a GMP environment with new production lines being added throughout the year. The facility is brand new, offering a dynamic mix of projects, from automated to semi-automated processes, and includes both new and refurbished equipment. The position offers an opportunity to extend from a 6-month contract to 1 year or potentially a direct role for the right candidate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
