We Build with Passion- Clean Harbors Kimball, NE NEW fabrication shop is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy machinery and equipment used in construction projects. Duties include performing routine maintenance on equipment, reading and interpreting blueprints, and the excavation, hauling, and placement of materials. Day shift- $35 an hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate excavators, bulldozers, front end loaders, and other heavy equipment- 5 + years experience
  • Experience with GPS systems and ability to read specifications and site plans
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints and plans
  • Haul and move materials as necessary
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members
  • Monitor equipment for malfunctions or defects
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience operating heavy equipment; including motor graders and scrapers
  • Valid US DL
  • HS diploma or equivalent- required
  • Commitment to safety
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to work with GPS-enabled heavy equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

Physical Requirements

  • This position is physically demanding, and candidates must be able to navigate varying site conditions where steep slopes and rugged terrain may be present and walk several miles per day. Some strenuous manual labor, including shoveling, installing construction and silt fencing, lifting and moving pumps and other small equipment is required. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator, that may restrict movement, when required.
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time in heavy equipment that may vibrate or jostle, climbing and working at heights, pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, crouching, and balance. Requires speaking, listening, understanding, and writing English; color determination, depth perception, clarity of vision, and 20/20 eyesight (corrected or uncorrected).
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment, and a clean personal appearance.
  • Clean shaven face not required

Other Conditions of Employment

  • Complete an employment application and satisfy all employment requirements.
  • Pass a comprehensive pre-employment and annual fit for duty physical, drug screen, and background clearance.
  • Adhere to Clean Harbors policies/procedures and maintain current OSHA 10 training
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that is satisfactory to Clean Harbors and be approved to operate light duty vehicles.
  • Must always demonstrate a professional standard of conduct. Clean Harbors employees are expected to represent the company during their entire work rotation, on or off our project sites
