Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented P&ID Drafter to work remotely within the US!
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented P&ID Drafter to join our team. This position will be responsible for creating detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) that are critical to our engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting, specifically in P&ID design, and be capable of establishing standards, implementing software solutions, and utilizing tools like EPLAN. The role may also involve other types of drafting and modeling tasks.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Develop and design detailed P&IDs, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all projects.
- Establish and maintain drafting standards and procedures for P&ID creation and revisions based on best practices and project requirements
- Implement and optimize software tools, particularly AutoCAD Plant 3D and EPLAN, to streamline drafting processes and ensure high-quality results.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate technical specifications into P&ID designs.
- Interpret and incorporate changes to P&IDs from engineering redlines, drawings, or related sketches
- Manage and update P&ID drawings, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Support engineering efforts to develop smart P&IDs with associated metadata
- Coordinate with other drafting teams to ensure that P&IDs align with mechanical, electrical, and process diagrams.
- Perform field work and P&ID as-built drawings as necessary
- Assist with other drafting and modeling tasks as required by the engineering team, including mechanical drafting and 3D modeling when applicable.
- Maintain and audit records of all P&ID drawing sets and standards
- Generate BOMs, line lists, equipment lists, instrument lists, specialty lists, and tie-point lists from the smart P&IDs
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of technicians, engineers, and operators
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving drive, bringing energy and excitement to technically challenging work
- Maintain reliable attendance, arriving on time and ready to contribute
- Take ownership of additional duties as needed to support Company goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of experience in P&ID drafting or related positions.
- Strong proficiency in P&ID drafting. Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, and EPlan is a plus.
- Knowledge of or experience with 3D modeling software, such as Siemens NX, is a plus.
- Must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with complex technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the P&ID drafting process.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineers and other technical teams.
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Familiarity in the following standard is preferred:
- PIP PIC001: “Piping and Instrumentation Diagram Documentation Critera”
- IEC/ISO 81346: "Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products – structuring principles and reference designations"
- IEC 81355: "Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products – Classification and designation of information"
- ISO 10628: "Diagrams for the chemical and petrochemical industry"
- ANSI/ISA 5.1: "Instrumentation Symbols and Identification"
- ISO 14617: "Graphical symbols for diagrams"
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation range for this role is between range $28 - $45 per hour
- This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
- This role requires less than 10% travel to support Sedron facilities

The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
