Senior Design Engineers Electrical/Plumbing Development

JOB DUTIES
- Serve as a technical resource and mechanical engineering leader on mid to high complexity New Product Development engineering projects within the electrical/plumbing organization.
- Provide clear engineering information to Project Leaders and the Global Engineering teams facilitating trade off decisions.
- Establish test regimens for electrical/plumbing products within scope of the project with minimal guidance. Deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations.
- Independently develop, write, and analyze testing reports in the companys internal laboratory.
- Serve as a technical resource on areas of expertise and provide consultation/mentorship to others. May manage projects and/or small teams. May manage projects and/or small teams.
- Execute a wide variety of calculations and software aided analyses in the following areas: mechanical stress analysis; tolerance stack analyses; gearing design; sound and vibration/response of dynamic systems; mechanism development and analysis; and hydraulic fluid flow and valve operation.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of relevant progressively more responsible experience as a Design Engineer or alternate related acceptable occupation; OR Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer or alternate related acceptable occupation.
Work or academic experience must have included:
1. 3D CAD software (NX, Creo, Solidworks, or similar)
2. Calculating full system characteristics utilizing Matlab, Simulink, or Python
3. Drafting 2D parts drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
4. Static structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
5. Conducting robust failure mode analysis and providing corrective action plans
10% of domestic and international travel required.
