Job Summary: Otak, Inc. is excited to announce an opportunity for a talented Structural Engineer to join our Front Range team! This position offers a hybrid schedule for candidates residing in Colorado, with the flexibility to work remotely up to four days per week and one day in the office. Occasional travel to client sites and Otak's Louisville office may be required.
You will collaborate with architects, building owners, and builders to design elegant solutions for projects of all types, sizes, and levels of complexity. From aesthetically pleasing pedestrian bridges to welcoming underpasses, unique vehicular bridges, context-sensitive retaining walls, and fish passages and diversion structures, our structures team provides a broad range of solutions that balance form, function, sustainability, constructability, schedule, and budget.
What you'll do:
Guide structural designers/technicians in development of plans and calculations for vehicular bridges, pedestrian bridges, and retaining walls.
Perform design services matching local, state and federal design standards, especially National Parks Service/Federal standards.
Prepare and lead preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD and OpenRoads.
Prepare specifications and cost estimates.
Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
Assist in developing and maintaining schedules for product delivery.
Provide construction support services.
Perform other structures related design tasks as assigned.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Registered Colorado Professional Engineer license is required or ability to obtain within 6 months. Structural Licensure is encouraged and preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in structural engineering working directly with roadway engineers, water resources engineers, and public clients.
Experience with CDOT.
Solid client service skills are required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Bluebeam, and current structural software applications such as AASHTOWare, RISA 3D, Lpile, PGSuper and Enercalc.
Proficiency and familiarity with applicable Codes, including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO LRFD Pedestrian Bridge Design Specifications, and CDOT Bridge Design Manual.

Salary Range: $93,000 - $118,000 per year
