This position will improve and/or develop manufacturing systems through Continuous Improvement methods and guidelines. The incumbent will also be responsible for the design of and/or improvement of manufacturing and/or production processes and quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Employees frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to molding equipment, punch press equipment, and other mechanical and electrical parts. Following safe work practices is essential. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in the office to moderate in the factory. Personal protective equipment including safety glasses and hearing protection is required while working in the factory.
This position will improve and/or develop manufacturing systems through Continuous Improvement methods and guidelines. The incumbent will also be responsible for the design of and/or improvement of manufacturing and/or production processes and quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the manufacturing and shipping operations of IPS Corporation by successfully completing projects in the fields of cost reduction, new product launches, Continuous Improvement, process improvements, data analysis, and problem solving.
- Drives and manages capital improvement projects relating to manufacturing equipment and facilities with operable metrics being budget, timeframe, and deliverables.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes using Scientific Molding principles. Trains Operations personnel in their application and use.
- Expert Level with PLC architectures and systems; especially Allen Bradely and Siemens.
- Ability to create any required documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, etc.
- Document and maintain all standards including time studies, maintenance standards and production rates.
- Must have some knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including Kanban, 5S, 7 Wastes, etc.
- Evaluate production processes for safety and ergonomics, as required.
- Analyze process flow and/or cell design as required in order to maximize productivity and increase utilization.
- Familiarity with Robots such as Kawasaki, Arburg, and Engel.
- Intermediate Knowledge of Electrical Principles.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Principles.
- Leadership Qualities of Leading a Team for various Tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Set process improvement standards including review of BOMs, standards and efficiencies, time studies for operational, manufacturing and production processes.
