Job Description Join our vibrant Phoenix office, an emerging hub with immense growth potential. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our team. Your expertise will primarily focus on solid waste management projects, including landfills, composting, and other related initiatives. You will assist in project management, business development, and staff development. This role offers the potential for a hybrid work setting, with reporting to the Southwest Region Civil Engineering Lead. Responsibilities
- Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in civil engineering assignments.
- Ensure projects are designed and delivered to meet client goals, on-time, within scope, and budget.
- Oversee and develop lower-level staff to enhance their knowledge and career progression.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and develop detailed project plans to track progress.
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs effectively.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
- Make independent decisions on engineering or scientific problems and methods.
- Perform fieldwork, including surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections in varied terrain and weather.
- Conduct office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, and permit applications.
- Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry conferences.
- Receive technical guidance on complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
- Must have at least 5 years of civil engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D.
- Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license or be able to obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.
- Experience in construction management, permitting, report writing, and project management.
- Bachelors degree in Civil, Construction, Geotechnical or similar Engineering.
- Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing.
- Relevant experience in solid waste and landfill engineering, including gas management, landfill design, and permitting is a plus.
- Experience in construction management, oversight, observation, or testing is a plus.
- Relevant technical and permit writing experience.
