Service Electrician

If you're wired for hands-on work and take pride in doing the job right, SPATCO is looking for a skilled and reliable Service Electrician to join our team-someone who can read blueprints, install and maintain electrical systems (including signage lighting), and use everything from conduit benders to voltmeters to keep things running safely and smoothly.

Job Overview:

  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures. Electrical petroleum experience a plus.
  • Will be using hand tools and power tools.
  • Trouble-shoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems or components using the appropriate testing equipment to find and correct the failure.
  • Use of ohm meter, voltmeter, amp probe and megger are required
  • Install conduits, Run MC cable, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers.
  • Inspect electrical system and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements. Verify proper operation of the electrical system.
  • Advise management, customers and fellow workmen when hazards are present and when electrical systems are safe to operate.
  • Assist estimator with material take-off, material cost and labor allowances.
  • Receive work orders from company tablet and fill out job work orders thru electronic means tablet.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED a plus but not required
  • 7 years of experience as an electrician; 5 out of the 7 years must be commercial work.
  • At least 1 year of Journeyman Electrician experience
  • Solid understanding of electrical standards and codes and NEC 70
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on call as needed
  • Strong communication skills and detail-oriented mindset
  • Capable of lifting 75-100 lbs. and working in various weather conditions
  • Ability to manage time effectively under pressure and collaborate well with others.
  • Able to work at heights.
