You'll roll up your sleeves in AutoCAD or MicroStation, guide big-picture visioning, and share your know-how through every phase-from concept to construction. Work Schedule for a Senior Transportation Engineer
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to 2 days per week. The Atlanta office of Toole Design is conveniently located in Inman Park along the Beltline. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

RequirementsQualifications of a Senior Transportation Engineer:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, or related field
- Professional Engineering license
- 10+ years of experience developing construction documents for roadways or highways
- 5+ years of experience serving in a project or design management role with a track record of progressively responsible work, managing projects
- A broad knowledge base in civil engineering, with specific experience in grading, drainage design and 3D modeling, roadway geometric design, and design of accessible public spaces
- General experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating utility and right-of-way impacts and street lighting, traffic signal, and landscape/hardscape layout
- Experience in Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and a design software (Civil 3D or OpenRoads)
- Experience reviewing construction plans and providing constructive feedback
- Experience developing construction documents, cost estimates, and specifications
- Interest in multimodal and active transportation issues and design (specifically for bicycle, pedestrian, Safe Routes to School and/or transit integration) for all ages and abilities
It would be a plus if you have:
- Experience in preparing transportation and local agency design documents, including the GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP)
- Experience preparing proposals and scope/fees
- Experience in business development including networking with colleagues and clients at public events, industry organizations (e.g., ITE, ASHE, or ASCE), and agency organized events
- Experience with stormwater design software is a plus (e.g., HydroCAD or HydroFlow)
- A desire to manage, mentor, and inspire staff
- Willingness to perform site or client visits
