Avionics/Electrical Maintenance Technician
New Orleans, AL
Contract Position
$35.89-$43.93/Hour

Responsibilities:
Maintain, remove, install, and upgrade aircraft avionics and electrical components.
Perform daily, pre-flight, post-flight, and periodic inspections to ensure aircraft safety and mission readiness.
Execute flight operation activities, including launch, recovery, and plane captain duties.
Assemble, disassemble, and modify aerospace systems to resolve faults or implement system updates.
Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate and repair issues.
Conduct validation and verification testing of systems and components.
Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards through proper documentation (repairs, test results, modifications, etc.).
Inspect components and verify repairs meet flightworthiness requirements.
Provide training and technical oversight to junior team members.
Adhere to safety protocols and promote quality-first practices across all maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; equivalent military or vocational training accepted.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Minimum 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Willingness to work variable shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as mission needs dictate.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments with loud noise and exhaust exposure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fighter aircraft avionics/electrical modifications.
F/A-18 AT/AE platform qualifications.
Familiarity with U.S. Navy 4790.1 maintenance requirements.
