Kelly Services is seeking experienced Machine Operators in Northlake, IL. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years experience working in a food manufacturing or plastics environment are highly preferred.

These are contract opportunities, which last up to 3 months, possibly longer. Talent that performs well and meets the production standards may be considered for longer term work in the department.

Shifts:
8am 8pm (will work 3 days one week, 4 the next. Will work every other weekend)

Pay:
$22

Responsibilities:

• Working at a manual station
  
• Inserting a 7 in, 9 in, or 10 in plastic hoses with a corresponding cap into machine
  
• Spraying alcohol on the cap
  
• Simultaneously pressing the buttons that will piece the hoses and caps together
  
• Packaging the hoses in a box
  
• Weigh box to ensure it has the right number of pieces and place on a pallet. 20 boxes per pallet.
  
• 300 or 400 hoses per box, depending on size of the hose
  
• Operator will be responsible for completing 1 box per hour and working their way up
  
• Materials will be brought to their workstation
  
• Work gloves and safety glasses are required apart from steel toes shoes and other PPE items
  
• Position is sitting down
  
• Will be rotated to other stations where standing may be required
  
• Will be trained on filling out paperwork accordingly
  
• Attention to detail and sense of urgency is crucial
  
• Other duties as assigned
  
• Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  
• Frequently standing, walking, and sitting
  
• Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach, or handle machinery
  
• Frequently bend, stoop and reach
  
• Visual Acuity (VA)

Qualifications/Experience

• 2-4 years experience with injection molding in manufacturing field
  
• Proficient in operating injection molding machines, including starting up, shutting down, and ensuring proper machine functioning.
  
• Adjusting machine parameters, such as temperature, pressure, speed, and injection time, based on material specifications and part design.
  
• Ability to operate multiple types of injection molding machines (e.g., hydraulic, electric, hybrid).
  
• Start up and shut down of the assembly line and production equipment
  
• Expertise in setting up molds, including mold alignment, securing, and adjusting the mold to ensure proper functioning.
  
• Knowledge of mold cooling, heating systems, and various mold components.
  
• Follow up change over process to run different products
  
• Performing in-process quality checks, such as measuring part dimensions, appearance, and tolerances, using tools like calipers, micrometers, or visual inspection
  
• Following strict safety protocols, including proper handling of hot molds, high-pressure machines, and other potentially hazardous materials
  
• Monitoring the production run to ensure the molding process continues smoothly and efficiently and entering production data into computer system
  
• Documenting and reporting production and quality data, ensuring products meet specifications.
  
• Assist maintenance in troubleshooting and repairing during the mechanical downtime
  
• Assist the management in improving safety, quality, and production
  
• Able to work on different assembly lines and production equipment
  
• Be able to keep up with the production lines quotas and rates
