- Develop system and subsystem-level design specifications based on requirements.
- Create system and subsystem-level configurations.
- Develop system and subsystem-level test methods and protocols.
- Act as a design transfer liaison to Production, Service, Support, and Training.
- Provide technical support for key products to customers, dealers, and field engineers.
- Prototype and test new circuit boards and improved revisions of existing circuit boards following medical devices design control methodology.
- Prototype and test new firmware and hardware-specific software for new and existing X-ray systems and subassemblies.
- Submit all required design control documentation accurately and on time.
- Complete assigned training and development courses.
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science. Masters degree preferred.
- At least 4 years experience with medical devices systems and hardware design under design control.
- Working knowledge of IEC standards, ESD/EMI/EMC testing knowledge required.
- Proficiency in Design control (MDSAP and ISO) and Risk management (ISO).
- Understanding of usability of medical devices as it relates to safety (IEC).
- Knowledge of X-ray physics and fundamental diagnostic X-ray imaging.
- Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) designation.
- Certifications in Biomedical Equipment (CBET).
- Certification in Laboratory Equipment (CLES).
- Proficiency with electrical engineering laboratory testing (oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum and network analyzers).
- Project management experience with medical devices design and commercialization under design control is a plus.
- Experience with X-ray technologies is a significant advantage.
This position is based onsite and involves collaboration with various departments including sales and customer service to ensure customer satisfaction. The role demands a balance between independent work and teamwork to achieve goals efficiently.
