Job Description
This apprenticeship position provides the opportunity to assist a licensed journeyman electrician with campus electrical duties while gaining practical experience in the electrical trade. The role supports the completion of the requirements for the State of Idaho journeyman electrician license, which includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and four years of apprentice schooling. Apprentices are expected to attend trade school at EITC two evenings per week during the fall and winter semesters. Tuition reimbursement is offered upon successful completion of each semester. This is a 30-hour-per-week position with a duration of three to five years.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Experience:
One year electrician experience
Skills:
This position requires an understanding of industrial electrical systems and the ability to perform electrical repairs or construction. The position requires climbing ladders and walking on roofs, beams, and other hazardous places.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. May be required to life pipe, conduit, and wires.
Certifications:
Idaho State Apprentice Electrician. Must be a registered apprentice
