We are recruiting on Purpose a full-time Project Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role plays a critical part in supporting the financial success of our projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable, with a strong background in project accountingideally within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with Project Managers to manage all financial aspects of active projects, including billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.

Assist with project setup and ensure accuracy of financial data and configurations in Acumatica.

Maintain and update detailed project records, contracts, and budgets.

Monitor project budgets and expenses, and provide timely reporting and updates.

Allocate time and resources accurately across multiple projects.

Perform financial analysis to support pricing decisions and proposal development.

Manage project cleanup and closeout, including reviewing unbilled items, revenue budgets, balances, and resolving discrepancies.

Coordinate with Project Coordinators to ensure seamless financial operations across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Administration, or related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the AEC industry.

Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.); advanced Excel skills preferred.

Experience with Acumatica is a strong plus; experience with tools such as Oracle, Deltek, or Textura is beneficial.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.

Experience managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, evolving business environment.

Flexible and eager to adapt to new technologies and regulatory changes.
