Plumbing Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing Technician with a passion for providing high-quality service. This role requires diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues, installing and maintaining various plumbing systems, and ensuring compliance with local plumbing codes and safety standards. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks and faulty fixtures. Install and maintain water heaters, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, and other plumbing systems. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance. Communicate clearly with homeowners about issues, solutions, and pricing. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety standards. Provide emergency plumbing services as needed, with potential on-call rotation. Essential Skills 1+ years of experience in plumbing. Experience with soldering. Ability to use an impact driver and basic hand tools. Valid driver's license. Mechanical aptitude and plumbing skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfortable bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting 100+ lbs as needed with a team member. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical troubleshooting, repair, gauge, pro-press, plumbing, construction installation, skilled trades, blueprint reading, mechanical aptitude. 1+ year experience as a plumber helper or mechanical/construction aptitude. Work Environment Work in a team-oriented environment with a busy schedule that includes M-F from 7-5ish and potential 60+ hours/week due to new projects. On-call shifts are required every 6 weeks with compensation provided. Collaborate with a journeyman, starting the day either at the job site or at the shop. Dress code includes jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate tee shirt, with provided company t-shirts. Basic hand tools are necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Ankeny, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
