Health Benefits 401K matching Work truck, gas card, company tools, uniforms, and personal tool replacement POSITION PURPOSE: The Service Technician is primarily responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and retrofits to building HVAC systems. The Service Technician will also ensure that all work carried out meets the Service Department's safety, quality, and customer standards and achieves the overall business plans and objectives. QUALIFICATIONS: Maintain a valid Vehicle Operator's License in the state of employment Maintainan insurable driving record Hold valid universal EPA certification EDUCATION: Maintain thorough industry knowledge and keep abreast of changes and advances in air-conditioning systems and HVAC technology. Must have an EPA Universal or equivalent. Must have a technical training degree in the HVAC service industry or proof of hours worked in the industry. BASIC DUTIES: Display a thorough understanding of air conditioning principles / systems and the relevant codes and industry standards that govern their maintenance and installation. Effectively maintain, diagnose problems, make repairs, and perform work of a technical nature on all air-conditioning systems. Participate as required in the company's on-call rotation. Ensure compliance with all Service Division operational Standards. SAFETY: Actively comply with the company/Industry Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Conducts self in a manner conducive to good relationships with customers and other staff, as well as ensures that a professional standard of presentation and performance is maintained. Proactively address customer complaints and demonstrate competence in establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers. Good attitude and politeness are a must when dealing with any customer, even in the stress of the summer heat. We must maintain our composure as we are professionals. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Effectively manage administrative requirements, including Service Reports, Quoted Work Forms, Survey Forms, Maintenance reports, refrigerant reports, etc., in a professional and timely manner. STANDARD OF PRESENTATION: Must wear company-provided uniforms and always appear neat and clean in accordance with the Service team's Appearance Policy. Maintain a neat, clean, orderly company-supplied service vehicle and company-supplied equipment. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as (but not limited to) safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, policies and procedures, or any other related documents. Ability to legibly write and fill out all documents. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read charts, graphs, tables, and schematics as they relate to HVAC-oriented matters. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense and basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat or cold conditions, risk of electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, high or precarious locations, and loud noises. Must work well under pressure to meet stringent deadlines. Must demonstrate cooperative behavior with customers, co-workers, and supervisors. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands & fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to at least 90 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust and focus. Assure an organized, neat, clean vehicle interior, ready for monthly vehicle inspections. 100% compliance of vehicle inventory levels. 100% compliance with all company safety policies and procedures. The incumbent shall work well under pressure; meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. The incumbent shall always demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
