A Local Excavation & Construction Company is Looking for a Competent, Experienced, Truck & Equipment Mechanic Able to Service & Repair Heavy Equipment & Fleet Vehicles.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must Pass a Drug Test & Criminal Background Check.
Regular & predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
Weld/Fabricate as needed.
Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, & service as assigned.
Knowledge of both Gas & Diesel equipment & engines.
Ability to use precision tools (such as micrometers & gauges) to examine parts for damage & excessive wear.
Ability to repair or replace damaged or worn parts.
Ability to read & understand schematics, technical drawings, & operating manuals.
Ability to operate trucks & heavy machinery to inspect, test, & diagnose defects & repairs.
Able to use hoists & cranes to dismantle & reassemble heavy equipment.
Ability to keep accurate maintenance & repair records.
Must maintain a clean, safe, & organized work station.
Must treat co-workers, supervisors, and the public with respect and professionalism.
Willingness to work in a team environment & assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required & assigned.
Must be willing to travel (within North Idaho) & work nights & weekends when necessary.
Individuals must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS
Mechanical ability familiarity with parts & components of complex machinery & equipment.
Attention to detail! Ability to ensure parts & repairs are performed to proper specifications & tolerances.
Thorough knowledge of shop & hand tools with a proper understanding of their application & correct usage.
The ability to troubleshoot & identify mechanical problems (engine, electrical, hydraulic, etc.) & determine workable solutions.
Ability to read, write & do basic mathematical calculations.
Must be able to complete Maintenance & Repair Documentation as Required.
Ability to understand & communicate effectively through verbal & written instructions.
Ability to operate equipment &/or possession of a CDL drivers license is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, sitting/driving, & looking under trucks & equipment.
Dexterity & good hand-eye coordination is essential.
Must be able to lift weights in excess of 50 lbs.
Able to work in all weather conditions.
