Position Overview:
The Contract Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the contractual agreements between our agency and our clients, partners, and vendors. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with contract review and management relating to construction, general contracting, real estate development or legal.
Responsibilities:
Review and Interpret Contracts
- Analyze contracts to identify insurance requirements (e.g., general liability, professional liability, auto, workers comp)
- Assess indemnity, hold harmless, and waiver clauses for risk exposure.
Identify and Communicate Insurance Needs
- Translate contractual insurance obligations into actionable coverage requirements for clients.
- Recommend policy adjustments or endorsements to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with Insurance Brokers and Clients
- Work directly with insurance agents/brokers and clients to verify existing coverage meets contract terms.
- Coordinate the issuance of certificates of insurance (COIs) and endorsements.
Track and Manage Compliance
- Maintain a system for tracking insurance requirements across multiple contracts.
- Ensure timely updates and renewals of coverage documentation.
Support Risk Management and Legal Teams
- Flag high-risk language and consult with legal or risk management personnel when needed.
- Contribute to contract negotiation support by recommending revised insurance and indemnity language.
Leverage existing tools and workflows to better manage the contract review process for clients
RequirementsContractual and Legal Language Literacy
- Ability to interpret legal terminology, indemnity provisions, and insurance-related clauses.
Knowledge of Commercial Insurance Policies
- Familiarity with coverage types, limits, exclusions, and industry-specific standards (e.g., ISO forms).
Attention to Detail
- Precision in identifying inconsistencies or gaps in insurance requirements or documentation.
Communication and Client Advising Skills
- Ability to explain complex insurance obligations clearly to non-expert clients.
Organizational and Tracking Skills
- Capability to manage multiple contracts and insurance compliance requirements efficiently.
