Corporate Electrical Engineer Position Overview Shaw Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Enterprise Utilities Team. This team provides engineering support for the corporation's manufacturing, distribution, sales, and administrative facilities. Although its primary base is in Dalton, GA, CE is deployed on projects across the enterprise. The department provides feasibility studies, high-level budgets, project development, detailed cost estimates, engineering, design, project management, consulting, and CAD services. This position is primarily responsible and accountable for project development, design, and execution, with a secondary focus on technical support for manufacturing facilities. Work is often multi-disciplined and requires close coordination with manufacturing management, other corporate departments, and outside agencies. While project assignments may at times overlap into other disciplines such as mechanical systems and manufacturing processes, the primary focus of this position is electrical and power systems. Responsibilities Project Development and Administration Develop and execute capital and expensed projects, sometimes large and complex, with detailed scopes of work, detailed schedules, and appropriations-grade budgets. Maintain project files and publish periodic project reports. Project Management and Execution Track spending and maintain control of project cost performance. Act as the primary point of accountability for adherence to the project budgets. Manage onsite contractor activities, ensuring consistent enforcement of regulatory, corporate and plant policies such as safety, ethics, environmental, etc. Provide an active onsite resource for project commissioning, startup, and optimization. Qualifications 4-year engineering or engineering technology degree and 3+ years of industrial and/or engineering experience related to project management OR 5+ years equivalent experience 2+ years experience as a Project Engineer or equivalent Must have demonstrated proficiency in project management, including but not limited to development of designs and specifications, scheduling, estimating, installation, and project administration. Extensive experience working with 480V electrical systems, including design, installation, and troubleshooting in industrial environments. Familiar with 4,160V and 12,470V distribution systems and equipment, with a working knowledge of their operation, safety requirements, and system integration. Possess strong working knowledge of and adheres to the requirements of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace), NFPA 70B (Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance), and NESC/ANSI C2 (National Electric Safety Code).
