This Chicago location provides energy management systems to the Freight Car Market; Draft Gears, Slack Adjusters, Handbrakes, Spherical Articulated Connectors, TMX/UBX Truck Mounted Brake Systems.
How will you make a difference?
The Operations Shipping and Receiving Supervisor engages in communication with EHS Manager, Customer Service, logistics carriers, domestic and international customers, global suppliers, Cell Leaders, Purchasing, Finance, and other internal/external support staff to ensure On-Time-In-Full requirements are met safely and accurately. Receives incoming material and processes material for outbound shipments using emails and web sites to exchange information. Focus on safety while meeting customer demands is a top priority. This role requires strong communication skills and proficient use of computers for timely communication and order processing.
What do we want to know about you?
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year or more related experience and/or training
- 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating forklifts and other shipping equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prior warehouse or manufacturing / leadership experience and training
- Working Knowledge of International Export and Domestic freight regulations for Air, Sea, Road, Rail, and Parcel shipments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Teams, Excel
- Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
- Oracle ERP Experience desired.
- Shipping and Receiving experience desired.
- Ability to build and lead a team through change
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
- Six Sigma or equivalent quality training
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to manage contract resources
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
What will your typical day look like?
- Lead a team of hourly employees to support the business operation
- Accomplish goals while focusing with utmost importance on Safety, maintaining high employee morale, and employee engagement
- Develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production and shipping and receiving plans
- Drive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments
- Develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy to improve safety, service, On time Delivery and quality, while reducing cycle times, costs, and in-process inventory levels
- Lead improvement project initiatives with a Lean focus
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional leadership team
- Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions. Heated dock and warehouse, Air-conditioned office. PPE required in production areas as defined by plant policies.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between
$60,700.00-$83,400.00The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
