New Way Trucks is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of mechanical systems and components. This role involves applying engineering principles to solve technical problems, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure product quality and performance.

Your Role in our Mission:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize processes and ensure manufacturability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical failures or performance issues.
  • Perform prototype testing and validation to ensure performance meets requirements.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through design modifications or material selection.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, manuals, and process guidelines.
  • Provide engineering support during product installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

To Perform this Job Successfully:

  • B.S Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, hydraulics, pneumatic, and electrical circuit design are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works and/or AutoCAD.
  • Excellent organizational skills handling project level responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment as well as with other departments.
  • Ability to analyze complex functions, procedures and problems to find creative, logical and effective solutions.
  • Ability to understand client needs, identify root causes of problems and implement pragmatic solutions.
