Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Construction Project Manager, specializing in fire protection systems for high-profile industrial and commercial projects across the Midwest. We are currently focused on large-scale data center builds in Northern Indiana, collaborating with leading contractors to ensure the seamless execution and coordination of fire protection systems from early detection to final commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for fire protection scope across multiple buildings.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and general contractors to drive schedules and resolve field conflicts.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of air sampling smoke detection systems, fire panel interconnections, and BDA systems for emergency responder radio coverage.
  • Manage zone-based commissioning and walkthroughs with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Support logistics, including material procurement and answering technical questions.
  • Represent the company professionally on site and monitor project progress, reporting updates to leadership.
  • Potential to roll into additional projects based on performance.
Essential Skills
  • Subcontractor management and construction supervision.
  • Strong field coordination with industrial or large commercial construction experience.
  • Basic construction knowledge, including materials, piping, and general site logistics.
  • Self-sufficiency in answering technical questions and running errands as needed.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements, including Class E hard hat with chin strap, cut level 4 gloves, long sleeves/pants, safety vest, boots, eye and hearing protection.
  • Drug screen and background check required before starting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with fire protection systems, particularly air sampling smoke detection (Vesda), fire panel integration, and EDA systems.
  • PMP certification is valued but not required.
  • Experience with fast-paced, high-pressure projects.
  • Familiarity with zone-based commissioning and AHJ walkthroughs.
Work Environment

This position requires on-site presence from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM4:30 PM. The work environment involves muddy and rubble-filled conditions, typical of construction sites, rather than clean room environments like semiconductor builds. The role offers hourly pay with overtime opportunities, currently averaging 7 hours of overtime per week, and the potential to transition into more projects. Benefits include paid vacation, 6 paid holidays, and a multi-year contract or direct hire possibility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.08/hr.
