Mechanical Engineer

Description

SAIC is looking for a Mechanical (Quality) Engineer to support the quality assurance and engineering responsibilities associated with MK48 programs at our East gate facility in Bedford, IN.

JOB DUTIES:

• Support quality assurance and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Performs paint and other coating inspections at SAIC and supplier locations
• Performs pre-shipment inspections of completed systems prior to delivery
• Assists in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of findings from quality inspections and manufacturing
• Maintains documentation of quality inspections in accordance with SAIC procedures and customer requirements
• Communicates discrepancies to vendors or coordinates with procurement regarding vendor performance
• Performs internal audits, as required, in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements
• As a secondary function of the position, works with support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0 years' experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple projects at one time.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power-Point and Project).
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Candidate must also be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance. No clearance required to start. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
