**Responsibilities**

**Position Summary:**

Our Controls Engineering Supervisor is a valuable part of our team. Controls supervisor will provide guidance for training, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance work throughout the facility. The priorities for this role include managing controls technicians for troubleshooting, repairs of controls systems, isolating components, ordering parts and required tools. Active supervision with the team and supporting current staff members when issues arise on the production floor. This role will provide leadership to the team and grow the base knowledge for all controls technical through industry standards and best practices.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

Responsible for performing complete systems controls engineering for industrial automation equipment. Engineering includes component sizing and selection for optimum performance. Primary support person for the Ignition automation software that controls the production floor Training junior controls tech to use Ignition automation software Primary support for Ignition software in New Hope and follow corporate enterprise guidance Provide production controls system documentation and design workflows. Using Kronos to manage control technicians time entry, scheduling, and days off. Responsible for meeting the production daily schedule. Take work directions from the Control Engineering Manager and provide daily production updates Will need to assist Controls Managers by providing project scope definitions, hardware, and labor estimates for proposals for Capital Initiatives, Managing the team assigning daily controls tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment and systems, including Extruder, Dryers, Dry bulk storage & conveying, systems using pneumatic control for conveying, High speed packaging including cartoners, baggers, case-packers, palletizers, material handling systems. Partner with operations and maintenance teams to solve repetitive problems, complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs and work Partner with operations to learn operating systems, while providing training on controls components Maintain documentation necessary for operations including work orders, requisitions, activity reports, daily logbook, and employee records. Review work needs, inventory, tooling, and OEM manuals to requisition parts and help maintain correct part inventory: type, supply, improvements Participate in daily production meetings Other duties, as assigned

**Education and Experience Required:**

2-year associates degree plus 5+ years hands-on experience in controls, automation 3 years hands-on experience in controls and automation Previous controls experience in a food manufacturing facility Previous experience with Ignition automation software Previous experience reading blueprints and schematics Previous experience with Allen Bradly, PLC, HDMI, touch screens Previous experience with VFDs Working knowledge of PLC programming and system integration Motivated self-starter, team player, work well with others and interact effectively and efficiently with internal or external people and groups. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when required

**Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:**

4-Year bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering Working knowledge of Ignition automation software Certified in Ignition automation software Previous employee management and leadership experience Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Working Knowledge of Electricity and Mechanics Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Processes; Good Manufacturing Practices; Quality Assurance and Sanitation Standards AutoCAD experience Knowledge of FactoryTalk SE View, Ignition, RSView32, Rockwell, Wonderware, Siemens SIMATIC, WinCC Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, OEEs, and 6S

**Physical Requirements:** Qualified candidates must be able to fulfil the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds 6+ hours per shift Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds 3+ hours per shift Must be able to sit, climb and work off ladder, and operate foot pedals for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to work in a dusty and cold environment for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to work in high heat and humidity for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, walk, and reach above shoulders for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to stand 8+ hours per shift Must be able to work from a lift at heights of 35 feet + The pay range for this position is $68,336 - $95,670 per year.
