Summary:

DMC is currently looking for Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics to join our team in Tucson, AZ. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for the execution of equipment repairs, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting the equipment on site such as jumbo drills, concrete pump, trans mixers, forklifts, telehandlers and utility equipment. Knowledge of fixed plant and shaft sinking equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality maintenance work as directed by their supervisor.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Understand the operation of diagnostic equipment and measuring tools, reading and interpreting results.
  • Inspect, diagnose equipment and troubleshoot components as required (air/hydraulic systems are an asset).
  • Be able to read procedures and prints as part of the diagnostic process.
  • Be able to read electrical and hydraulic prints.
  • Record all defective items on equipment and supply parts listing as per DMC work order procedures.
  • Must follow standard safety operating procedures.
  • Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to DMC.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the continued improvement of Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Have a completed personal basic trade tool inventory of a recognized quality.
  • Ensure that all direct reports in the workplace take responsibility for aspects of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment over which they have control including adherence to all OHS&E requirements applicable to DMC Mining Services.
  • Other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Certificate/License is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of underground experience.
  • Experience working on MacLean bolters, Epiroc Boltec, Toro 50 truck, CAT AD30 trucks, CAT R1700G scoops, Toyotas, Sandvik jumbo's, Epiroc jumbo's, Kubota's is an asset.
  • Must be reliable and self-motivated with a good work ethic.
  • Must be experienced and comfortable working at heights.
  • Welding & fabrication experience is an asset.
  • Hoist experience is an asset.
