The Solid Waste Special Service District (d/b/a Canyonlands Solid Waste Authority) was created in 1993 and manages solid waste and recycling services in Grand County, Utah and its surrounding communities. Canyonlands Solid Waste Authority operates the Moab Landfill, Klondike Landfill, Community Recycle Center, and Canyonlands Transfer Station as well as providing curbside trash and recycling services.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Details:

Temp-to-Hire position

$26.00 /hour

Full Time work available

First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)

Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy machinery and equipment, including construction, mining, or agricultural vehicles.

This role requires strong technical expertise, diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and quality work.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications:

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and transmissions.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.

Welding and fabrication skills (in some roles).

Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and fieldwork.
