Position Overview

The fabricator III-IV is responsible for things that include the fabrication of handrails, walkways, decks, drill tooling, and support equipment. You may also weld casing or other fabrication projects as needed both in the shop and within the field.

  • This is a non-exempt, hourly position.
  • Fabricators can work 10 days on / 4 days off, or 9 days on / 5 days off schedule.
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
  • Repair and fabricate damaged or worn parts.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Weld broken parts and structural members using Tig, Mig, and Arc welding. Some soldering and gas welding.
  • Weld and fabricate Items such as Drilling-related parts such as Wellheads, Casing, Landing plates, Handrails, Walkways, Guards, etc.
  • Experience or willingness to learn how to operate a lathe and CNC mill.
  • Fabricate needed parts or items as required.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic with the drive and desire to learn and perform tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain effective and collaborative workplace relationships, treating others with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug (including the use of marijuana) and alcohol screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and additional background screening as required by regulation and/or industry practice.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have experience with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
  • Knowledge and ability to use a CNC plasma table and CNC brake press.
  • Knowledge of manual mill and lathe.
  • Knowledge and ability to properly set and adjust the machine for welding.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate an ironworker and tubing bender.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to safely use and operate shop tools and equipment such as torches, band saws, ironworkers, and drill presses.
  • Safely operate forklifts, other lift equipment, and/or cranes to move material as required.
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and push, pull, reach, climb, bend, twist, squat, and kneel multiple times per shift.
  • Must be willing to travel and work in remote locations, outside, and in all weather conditions (hot and cold).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Typical Pay Schedule (Based upon experience)

Fabricator III - $35-$45/hr.

  • Four (4) to six (6) years’ experience required.
  • Ability to operate CNC water jet.
  • Ability to read blueprints and fabricate the specifications.
  • Proficient in Mig, Tig, and Arc welding within all positions and pipe.
  • Knowledge and ability to complete field service repairs.

Fabricator IV - $45-$55/hr.

  • Seven (7) + years’ experience required.
  • Ability to operate a CNC waterjet, CNC brake press, lathe mill, and all tools related to the job.
  • Ability to read blueprints and fabricate the specifications.
  • Proficient in Mig, Tig, and Arc welding within all positions and pipe.
  • Knowledge and ability to complete field service repairs.
  • Assist in design and improvement processes.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
