Job Description

Infosys is looking for Architect - Mainframe development & migrations responsible for diagnosing problem areas, designing innovative solutions, facilitating deployment and defining and automating the processes.

Required Qualifications:

Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or Tampa, FL or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

7 + years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application develop and support

Strong hands-on expertise in Mainframe - PL1, Assembler, Cobol, CICS, JCL, IMS, DB2

Experience in migrating Mainframe apps to Open technologies like Java / Microservices

Strong experience in Enterprise and System architecture and design methodologies

The individual will be performing below responsibilities as part of the role:

  • Architect, manage, maintain, and support Mainframe applications (including high availability, backups, performance tuning, and security)
  • Understand requirements, create, and review designs, validate the architecture and ensure high levels of service offerings to clients in the technology domain
  • Participate in project estimation, provide inputs for solution delivery, conduct technical risk planning, perform code reviews and unit test plan reviews
  • Lead and guide your teams towards developing optimized high quality code deliverables, continual knowledge management and adherence to the organizational guidelines and processes
  • Contribute to building efficient programs/ systems and help our clients navigate their next in their digital transformation journey
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production
  • Must have strong experience in maintaining Mainframe systems and have experience in migrating to open platforms
  • Support in Mainframe Techrefresh and software upgrades activities
  • Develop and maintain application documentation and data flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with client, business and development teams for design, development, performance enhancements, and release planning.
  • Implement and support disaster recovery and restoration strategies.
  • Support in Application security remediation

Preferred Skills:

Exposure the AWS cloud technologies

Experience in Java and Microservice technologies is an added plus

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Fluent in English, good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
