Based out of Charlotte, NC area, travel throughout Carolinas and Tennessee with potential travel to other areas, including the Midwest. Travel Monday-Friday, home on weekends. Travel almost every week.

Job Summary:

The Wireless Construction Manager leads the planning and execution of wireless system builds, including in-building RF distribution and outdoor small cell installations (e.g., new poles, attachments, and rooftop sites). This role manages all aspects of construction, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery, while overseeing subcontractors and engaging directly with stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and install high-capacity cellular 4G and 5G systems.
  • Manage wireless construction projects from site survey to closeout, including preconstruction, onsite inspections, and stakeholders' communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Engineering, and Construction teams to successfully and efficiently deploy wireless equipment
  • Supervise onsite construction teams and subcontractors to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Manage and maintain project budget.
  • Communicate project milestones, address issues proactively, and coordinate with Project Manager.
  • Perform hands-on work with cable, coax and fiber as well as hands on testing with multiple RF testing tools when needed.
  • Face-to-face interaction with onsite stakeholders.

Managerial Responsibility

  • This position has direct reports.

Travel/Shift Requirements

  • Travel throughout Carolinas and Tennessee with potential travel to other areas, including the Midwest. Travel Monday-Friday, home on weekends. Travel almost every week.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work with and around electrical wires and components and/or ESD products.
  • Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites.

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Extensive experience in wireless and cellular industries with the ability to ensure high quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to be physically present at construction sites.
  • Experience managing OEM build projects in the telecom industry.
  • Ability to work in and maintain bucket trucks and different types of areal lifts.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and RFDs.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Adherence to wireless construction quality and safety standards.
  • High accountability and integrity.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills, software, and technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Availability for full-time work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years' telecommunication experience.
  • Experience with Verizon DAS systems and Ericsson DOT platforms
  • Experience with OEMs-JMA/SOLiD/CommScope preferred
  • At least 3 years in-building and small cell construction management experience.
  • Skilled in operating bucket trucks and areal lifts, including a boom, in public rights-of-way.
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers, PIM Analyzers, OTDR, fiber fusion splicers, compression connector tools.
