Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring for Structures Design Engineer - Windows design (Experienced or Senior) to work at our Puget Sound Structures Windows Design Center in Everett, WA.

As a Design Engineer for Puget Sound Structures Windows Design Center, you will support all BCA programs. The Puget Sound Design Center is a comprehensive design center supporting all facets of the flight deck windshields and passenger windows product life-cycle (product development, new programs, production support, and fleet/in-service support), across all product lines including the 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787 and future programs. Job assignment will vary by product lifecycle.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced (Level 3) and (Senior level 4) Design Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs and certification of new or revised flight deck windshields and passenger window configurations. Including but not limited to, preparation of drawings/documents/specs, coordination with suppliers and certification activities.

  • Develops technology and product improvements for future transparency applications.

  • Flight Deck windshields and passenger windows technical support for factory/flight-line damage assessment and evaluations.

  • Suppliers management support for cost reduction efforts, assessment of vendor charges, and vendor production support.

  • Fleet support, including telex support, maintenance document support, warranty determinations and SRPs.

  • Safety support via COSP/safety issues.

  • Coordination outside of Boeing with groups such as window vendors, material suppliers, government agencies and industry/academic groups, including travel and potential deployment to supplier sites.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science in a Mechanical, Aeronautical / Aerospace, Civil engineering, or Material Science (with composites, glass or acrylics focus) degree.

  • 3+ years of experience in windows design or structural design.

  • Strong knowledge of window systems, including design, certification, and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Engineering.

  • Graduation from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Have solid Structures Design fundamentals. CATIA V5, configuration management skills, PDM, and ENOVIA.

  • Familiarity with glass or plastic transparency design and analysis.

  • Familiarity with materials, electrical, optical and thermal engineering a plus.

  • Familiarity with project management a plus.

  • Familiarity with production methods.

  • Familiarity with material properties of transparencies.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $96,050 - $129,950

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 4): $120,700 - $163,300
