Job Title: Concrete Project Manager

Job Description

As a Sr Concrete Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for clients and oversee all aspects of concrete projects. This includes managing financials, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations. Your role will involve managing both the Preconstruction and Construction phases, ensuring that all project needs are met with precision and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact with clients, overseeing all aspects of project management including financials, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations.
  • Manage the Preconstruction and Construction phases of assigned projects.
  • Assist in the development of project procurement documents for various delivery methods.
  • Oversee the cost/change management process from start to finish for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with the Design Team to align design packages with schedules for estimating, bidding, and construction.
  • Allocate and adjust project resources based on demands throughout the project life cycle.
  • Draft subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors, and communicate expectations and responsibilities.
  • Execute contractual risk protections, including determining Builder's Risk Insurance requirements.
  • Lead the team with a strong emphasis on safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
  • Collaborate with governing authorities for inspections and approvals, proactively addressing requirements.
  • Establish work and authority scopes for all project team members and trade contractors.
  • Manage conflicts and disputes, focusing on developing mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Promote knowledge development and leadership skills among project team members.
  • Provide motivational and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Provide on-site leadership to build and motivate the project team to meet goals and responsibilities.
  • Set and manage project expectations, delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Six or more years of experience in construction or a related field.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Concrete construction and formwork experience.
  • Concrete self-perform work experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related fields is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 training preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain performance under pressure.
  • Strong computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction project management software.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with supervision and peers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment

This role requires working primarily at a construction site and in an office trailer. You will be exposed to loud noises from construction equipment and varying temperatures due to weather conditions. Protective equipment, such as hardhats, safety glasses, and high visibility clothing, is required. The job involves physical demands such as standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Travel to and from the construction site is necessary, with most work being local but may include some long-distance and overnight travel. The work environment is both office and jobsite-based within a 2-hour radius of the Knoxville office.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
