Overview

Large Earthwork / Civil Superintendent Traveling Superintendent Energy Area

Location : National Travel no relocation required

* Due to the nature of this position and the locations of our projects, the Travel Project Manager will not be required to relocate to a specific location permanently. They will be required to be onsite for the duration of projects and will be paid a weekly per diem on all projects. In between projects or during project shutdown the PM may be required to report to HQ (Orem, UT) as needed / sparingly for critical meetings.

Job Summary : Schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities. Working in Civil Earthwork and Energy Civil Site Service construction projects.

Supervision/Personnel

  • Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values.
  • Supervises and schedules all employees assigned to their crew. Assumes responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Seeks to build morale of all team members by positive reinforcement, feedback, etc.
  • Maintains all employee timecards; ensures employee time is accurate and turned in and properly coded.
  • Ensures the safety of their crew by having a full understanding of OSHA and company safety rules while having the ability to act quickly and effectively when an unsafe situation arises.
  • Direct work in large earthwork spread, energy and renewables projects (civil services).

Project and Schedule Management:

  • Works with the project team to establish goals and develop accountability.
  • Capability of producing continuous three week look ahead schedules to assign and coordinate work with both the employees on their crew and subcontractors.
  • Ensures that the project is being constructed according to the schedule and that the milestone dates are being achieved.
  • Identifies active and potential delays to the project and assures that these delays are being communicated to the project team.
  • Ensure that everyone is working with the most current drawings. Inputs all correspondence into the drawing, request for information (RFI), etc.
  • Job site setup and equipment staging.
  • Ability to plan ahead to order and arrange for inspection of work that are required by the project specifications.

Education and/or Experience :

  • Minimum of eight years of related experience working on heavy civil structure projects.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong GPS understanding and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in large earthwork quantities, cut and fill operations, etc.
  • High working knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost controls.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong comprehension and usage of construction softwares.
