A well-established and highly respected general contractor in your area is looking to add a Construction Estimator to its growing team. With over a century of experience, this company is known for delivering complex and community-driven projects across a variety of sectors including education, public sector, and municipal construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and complete estimates for assigned projects, including detailed quantity takeoffs.
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and cost parameters.
Lead the full estimating process for specific bids/projects, coordinating with team members and stakeholders.
Maintain organized documentation and pricing history to support estimate figures.
Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and validate project data.
Evaluate and recommend design options based on cost, material availability, and constructability.
Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers; attend outreach events to identify new partnerships.
Track awarded contracts, support procurement, and manage estimating follow-up such as change orders and extras.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR 4–7+ years of relevant estimating experience.
- Experience performing takeoffs and pricing for concrete, earthwork, and related scopes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software; strong spreadsheet skills required.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lead estimating efforts and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
