Electrical Technician**

**Job Description**

Join our team as an Electrical Technician, where you will plan detailed working procedures by determining replacement needs or new materials required, and develop logical approaches to correct problems. You will analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance.

**Responsibilities**

+ Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.

+ Receive wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions from supervisors for emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and inspection work.

+ Perform tasks requiring thorough knowledge of electrical theory, principles, statutory codes, and the operation of electrical equipment.

+ Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.

+ Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar devices.

+ Install, repair, and maintain communication cables, power distribution systems, and splice pieces as needed.

+ Fabricate parts using machine and hand tools if parts are not commercially available.

+ Determine needs and perform necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.

+ Advise operators and mechanics about potential electrical issues and inherent dangers.

+ Notify supervisors of potentially dangerous electrical equipment and corrective actions taken.

+ Install, program, start-up, and troubleshoot PLC and DDC based control systems.

+ Collaborate with mechanical teams on major installations, working alongside machinists and pipefitters.

+ Conduct temporary or long-term repairs in other areas of Plant Maintenance such as pipefitting, HVAC, and boiler room.

+ Comply with all safety policies, report safety violations, and attend safety meetings.

+ Report problems regarding food safety to supervisors or managers.

**Essential Skills**

+ Electrical troubleshooting and assembly

+ Schematic reading

+ Repair and installation of electronics

+ Understanding of wiring and hydraulics

+ Ability to analyze and correct electrical problems

+ Participation in installation, programming, and start-up of plant systems

+ Proficiency in preventive maintenance

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence in English.

+ Ability to present information effectively in small groups.

+ Vocational school or junior technical college training as an industrial electrician.

+ Formal training in PLC based industrial control systems.

+ 5 to 8 years experience as an industrial electrician, including 3 Phase Plant Power Distributions systems, motor theory, and PLC controls.

+ Desirable experience with robotics.

Work in a manufacturing environment, requiring frequent lifting up to 60 lbs., standing, and walking for long periods. Candidates must be able to work from an elevated platform. The Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, Pennsylvania.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
