Electrical Engineer 1

This position provides support to the Grid Operations and Planning Research area within the client’s Research & Development. The engineer will support projects and, in time, lead efforts to deploy and evaluate the performance of emerging technologies in this arena. The position is primarily focused on tools to support grid operations with an emphasis on power system analysis, power system modeling and simulation, “big data” analytics, and visualization. However, the work may involve projects in other areas of the power system, including integrating Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS). Knowledge of databases, data structures, computer networking is desirable, as well as an aptitude to apply engineering analysis to solve problems.

• Must have a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE) degree.
• Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation (RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, or ETAP) required.
• Must possess analytical skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be willing to work onsite at their own expense.
• This is a government-related project and requires NERC/CIP access or the ability to obtain one.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for the company on W2.
