Plumbing Superintendent
Job Description

The Plumbing Superintendent oversees all plumbing-related activities on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves managing plumbing crews, coordinating with other trades, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate plumbing crews on commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to determine plumbing layout and installation procedures.
  • Schedule and monitor daily work activities, ensuring productivity and adherence to timelines.
  • Inspect work for quality assurance and compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, and other trade superintendents to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
  • Order materials, tools, and equipment as needed; manage inventory and minimize waste.
  • Train and mentor plumbing staff, promoting safety and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and progress reports.
  • Ensure all plumbing systems (water, gas, drainage, etc.) are installed and tested properly.
  • Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot plumbing issues as they arise.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in plumbing preferred.
  • Minimum of 57 years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Valid plumbing license or certification as required by state/local regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency with construction management software and mobile apps is a plus.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Commercial and industrial experience.
Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic and involves collaborating with various trades on construction sites. It requires adherence to safety standards and proper use of construction management software. The position involves fieldwork and office-based tasks, ensuring compliance and quality assurance at all stages of the project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
