We are seeking an experienced full-time Sr. Architect or Sr. Designer with a passion for the TDG aesthetic design philosophy and exceptional client interaction experience, a bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent experience, 10+ years of experience designing classical projects (including architectural interiors), 7+ years leading design teams to join our collaborative team of highly creative design professionals. You will possess exceptional exterior and strong interior conceptual design skills. You will be confident & approachable, authoritative & collaborative with clients, with the ability to make personal connections with them. ROLE TASKS: The Sr Architect | Sr. Designer collaborates with the Principal and Sr. Project Manager and is capable of creating design-related conceptual and technical documents on the most complex projects. Under the direction of the Principal, they lead the conceptual design process, true to the TDG design philosophy. Under the direction of the Principal, they capture and express the conceptual design intent of the client, create concept design presentations, monitor design development, and collaborate with our Interior Architectural Designers to keep the exterior and interior design intent aligned. They coordinate with Project Managers to provide design guidance for construction documents. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent experience (licensure is a plus) 10+ years of experience designing classically styled projects (4+ years designing classical residences) 7+ years leading a team of designers Highly experienced in capturing the project program along with the emotional intent of clients Exceptional hand-rendering skills Highly experienced in site placement Highly experienced in design development Highly experienced in redlining CDs (site, demo, floor plans, elevations & sections, reflected ceiling, finish schedules, interior elevations, schedule plans, design details, structural drawings, electrical drawings, and specifications) Very Experienced in interior architectural design (including designing/selecting appliances, cabinets & built-in casework, countertops, doors, fireplaces, flooring, hardware, lighting, millwork, mirrors, paint/stain, plumbing fixtures, stairs, stone, tile & grout) Experienced in residential building code requirements Experienced in preparing and delivering conceptual presentations to clients Experienced in residential construction, installation methods and construction materials & finishes (residential construction experience a plus) Experience in 3D modeling using Sketchup, Revit or Chief Architect a big plus This position will require the candidate to manage multiple projects and evaluate and determine how to best keep projects progressing while managing client expectations. Position allows for limited ability to work from home and requires candidates to regularly commute to the office and to job sites. COMPENSATION: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
