Kleinfelder's Southern California Area is seeking an experienced Project Engineer Aviation Infrastructure to join our team! This position has the option of a hybrid work schedule and can be located in any of our offices throughout Southern California.

This role involves technical leadership across the planning, design, and detailing of aviation and broader transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on airside (runways, taxiways, aprons) and landside (access roads, grading, utilities) systems

The qualified candidate will also be responsible for the following:

  • Engineering Lead with demonstrated success in client relationships, design and project oversight
  • Lead the design and coordination of aviation-focused infrastructure, including pavement design, stormwater systems, utility relocation, and both FAA and AASHTO standards compliance across multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience in organization and technical expertise to meet deadlines and budget requirements
  • Proven experience working on aviation projects including both landside and airside facilities

Additional Responsibilities will include:

  • Project engineering duties including, but not limited to performing roadway, highway, analysis and design and peer/constructability reviews
  • Lead QA/QC processes and assure quality products are delivered to the client
  • Actively contribute to projects by performing tasks requiring a broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of transportation engineering
  • Provide technical interface with clients and contractors
  • Develop, establish, and oversee all aspects, including cost control and planning/scheduling efforts on multiple projects
  • Effectively communicate technical and promotional material to staff, clients and sub-consultants

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related. An advanced degree, i.e. MS or PhD is preferred. PE in CA or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • 6-10 years of progressively combined experience in design delivery for runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage, and airside/landside infrastructure or other related transportation projects and programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays.The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary Range:$81,000 - $115,000.
