Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop designs, routing plans, and material specifications for natural gas distribution mains, ensuring alignment with industry codes and standards.
  • Regularly utilize AutoCAD and GIS software to produce and update technical drawings.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.
  • Perform quality control checks on drawings and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the drawing database.
  • Conduct field visits (510% of the time) throughout the project lifecycle to support Field and Construction Operations. Responsibilities include site inspections, taking measurements, documenting equipment, and observing installation and commissioning activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution (required).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
  • Internship experience or up to three years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities such as student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or design projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have a dependable mode of transportation for occasional travel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
