Ensures that the financial aspects of the construction project life cycle are properly recorded by creating orders/notifications. Under the guidance of senior staff, monitors, analyzes, identifies and resolves accounting issues. Supports the successful flow of construction projects through internal project management systems. Works closely with project management to ensure compliance with WUTC rates and tariffs, company accounting policies, and established SOX controls.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork orders, notifications, technical master data, and non-consumption billing:oSupports construction accounting activities and oversight for the regional project management team.oCreates, monitors, and edits work orders in SAP.oCreates and maintains accurate technical master data.oInterprets construction project scopes to ensure compliance with company accounting policies, and line extension tariffs and schedules.oGenerates customer billing by creating accurate and timely non-consumption contract accounts, sales contracts, and other sales documents in SAP.Order corrections, billing, and quality assurance:oAudits facility agreements for pricing and customer data accuracy.oSupports the resolution of issues related to accounting, SOX controls, and tariff interpretation.oWorks with service providers to resolve blocked billing issues.oPerforms accounting functions such as journal entries.oPerforms monthly problem order review and order clean-up functions.oResearch and resolve data and accounting problems.Communicate with peers, customers, and management to ensure proper financial and accounting practices.Develops ad hoc reporting on an as needed basis.Supports the development of system and process improvements and solutions.Participates in emergency response efforts as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Education and Experience RequirementsAssociate's degree in accounting, business, construction management, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.Two (2) years of experience in construction services or related field.Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment in analyzing (such as reading and interpreting blueprints or FERG accounting) and identifying solutions to complex issues that arise.Proficient with BW (Business Warehouse) and SAP.Experience contributing to process improvements.Experience developing ad hoc reporting with minimal assistance.Previous work experience in the gas and/or electric utility industry.Experience with MS Office Suite including Excel and Microsoft Word.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
