Our system drawings are at the center of everything we do - We're looking for a CAD engineer to work with the engineering and sales teams to get our system drawings and Bills of Materials done accurately and on time.

CPS specializes in the design, integration, and assembly of fluid power systems, sub-assemblies and components for OEMs across a wide range of markets from heavy trucks, agriculture, oil and gas, drilling, aerial and mining to paper packaging, warehousing, recycling, construction, and more.

Job Description and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to develop detailed assemblies and system drawings in SolidWorks to support the engineering team
  • Support the pre & post-production engineering process
  • Layout 3D model assemblies from a solid model library of components
  • Prepare detail drawings for production and assembly
  • Create solid models of custom manifolds
  • Develop/Revise/Update accurate Bills of Materials that match system assemblies using standard inter-company components and drawing practices
  • Assist design engineering team with new designs and documentation when time permits
  • Follow file workflows and inter-company modeling/drawing/filename standards defined by the SolidWorks vault management system.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Associate degree in CAD Design OR Mechanical Drafting/Design OR Fluid Power Technology with relevant job experience
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D Modeling
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English preferred
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Applicants should be mechanically inclined
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Experience with ERP business systems - Able to enter BOM's, perform inventory searches, and generate basic reports
  • Design records documentation control knowledge
  • Experience with industrial power wiring (panels, PLC's) preferred
  • Experience: 0-5yrs. We encourage applicants with entry level experience to apply
