MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Concrete Operations Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all concreting activities on-site.

  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of concrete from batching plants to various work fronts.

  • Oversee the setup and execution of concrete pours, including formwork, reinforcement checks, and placement methods.

  • Supervise concrete finishing techniques (e.g., trowelling, broom finish, surface treatments) to meet design and durability requirements.

  • Manage curing processes (e.g., water curing, curing compounds, thermal blankets) to ensure proper strength development.

  • Quality Control & Testing:

  • Coordinate and monitor on-site concrete testing (slump, temperature, air content, compressive strength).

  • Ensure compliance with mix design specifications and quality standards.

  • Maintain records of test results, pour logs, and non-conformance reports.

  • Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead and manage concreting crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.

  • Coordinate with site engineers, planners, and safety officers to align concreting activities with the overall construction schedule.

  • Ensure all personnel are trained and compliant with safety and quality procedures.

  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

  • Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies during all concreting operations.

  • Conduct pre-pour safety briefings and risk assessments.

  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of materials and equipment.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare daily reports on concrete activities, including volumes poured, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.

  • Maintain accurate records of concrete mix designs, delivery tickets, and curing logs.

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • In-depth knowledge of concrete technology, mix designs, and construction methods.

Desirable:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or rail projects, with at least 3 years in a concreting supervisory role.

Experience

  • Experience with urban rail or depot construction projects.
  • Knowledge of thermal control plans for mass concrete.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and reporting tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of thermal control plans for mass concrete.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and reporting tools.

Competencies & Skills

  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with urban rail or light rail projects.
